I’ve always been that guy that draws on everything. And I kept hearing “You should do that for a living”. Listening to those words and starting a career as a designer was one of my best choices in life.
Learning the ropes
2011 – 2012
Freshly graduated from Medieinstitutet in 2011 I started my journey in advertising, learning the ropes of direct marketing (yep, the stuff you find on your door mat). An industry highly focused on conversion rather than fancy looks. These years really gave me my foundation in layout, typography, copywriting and most of all, conversion thinking.
Halleluja, digital marketing
2012 – 2013
As the industry leaned more on digital marketing I felt liberated. This is my domain. This is my mojo. I started my own company and eventually merged with another company forming Tuzame. As most start-ups we did everything we could get our hands on. From iOS apps and conversion campaigns for Swedens largest brands to graffiti art. I even got the opportunity to teach one of my favourite hobbies; Vector illustration.
Designing digital products
2013 – Now
Working with 20+ clients and shipping campaigns was fun, but I was honestly a bit fatigued at this point. In comes a SaaS company wanting a new iOS app. Not another one-off project but a long term commitment to learn, experiment and improve. I was intrigued. So much that I actually joined Upsales as their first designer in 2015.
I really do love all parts of design and having the opportunity to combine that with shaping a product users love, just makes me tick.
